“I saw pictures of you, as you progressed and earned commendations. Watched you change.” He’d grown up, filled out, but not his eyes, they were exactly the same.
“It was all I had, nothing tangible left.” Nothing she could touch, she didn’t even have a set of dogtags she could hold.
